“Why Not Me”

Ever since I could remember I always wanted to do something great.  I thought about many things growing up, engineer, teacher, sports coach, and yes playing professional baseball.  Our focus and commitments don’t always line-up, because things just happen.  Here’s the truth, we’re told you are to slow, to fat, or not tall enough, and yes not smart enough.  So we listen because the words hit hard and we believe.  That’s were it all begins, so we stop dreaming and just start doing as we’re told.  I picked this topic, because it hits home for me.  Growing up people would say, you can’t do that or its to difficult.  The simple truth is, those things and ideas were too hard for them, they only did it because they were told the same thing.  So how do we break the mold, great question.  Here’s how it worked for me.  I stopped asking for people approves and just started doing.  And guess what happened things just started working, impossible became simple.  Words, are powerful if they are structured correctly.  I describe these words as the black magic of failure, foolish, slow, idiotic, crazy, absurd, batty, senseless, and I could go on.  When words are used in this manner you now have two strikes against you.  So before you start asking your family or friends for their approvals, stop right there and just look into your heart and tell yourself with conviction and dedication your dreams and aspirations will prevail.  It’s the same for an illness, yes,  we all have something.

Your attitude and frame of mind are your antidotes for a healthier state of mind.  I have read many spiritual books on healing from within, eating healthy foods are essential in helping your immune system resist a particular infection or toxin which triggers your disease.  I’m not saying to stop living, but what I’m writing out are the things I have changed in my life and has help me to overcome this illness.  I say, illness because I have embraced it and told myself to stop being angry and having negative thoughts.  So now I’m 100% focused on healing myself through healthier organs which are vital in fighting off any illness or disease.

So, I say “Why not Me” because I will defeat this illness and like all those before me and how they overcame their illness or disease and lived a normal life.

So take good care of yourself and enjoy the simple pleasure of life, work and achieve your goals and success will surly follow you.  Exercise daily, and take your walks or jogs just keep your body in motion.  I am thankful and blessed for having the best family and support team ever.  My wife and her sergeant like attitude and kicking me in the butt every time I need it.  Her understanding of holistic treatment of the whole person, than your physical symptoms of a disease.

Gluten Free diet, and all the vitamins and all the supplements, acupuncture, deep tissue massage, including acupuncture deep tissue massage.  These have kept me from sitting in a wheel chair.  There are methods and other medicine which can be used to treat your illness.   So don’t block out alternatives methods.  Have an open mind to everything and seek help from the best Doctor in the world your inter body and mind.

You deserve the best, from the moment you took your first breath of air.  So it’s all mind over matter.

  1. Although I have yet to have the great pleasure of meeting the man that has been such a great mentor to my husband, I am already inspired by your words of wisdom. Your outlook on life and it’s everyday struggles and battles is beyond encouraging to me. Mario came home last week very excited because he finally got a chance to speak with you, more importantly he is looking forward to “sitting on the front lawn” with you soon. I know you will continue to push forward not only to set an example but simply because that is the MAN that you are! I look forward to my Mason meeting your Mason soon. Keep blogging because I’ll be reading:-). Well spoken words my friend!
